Is hate simply an adjective to describe our disdain for someone’s view, or is it an action that demeans someone’s value? We peruse Facebook, searching out those we deem unworthy and conjure a response that puts them in their place and puts us on a pedestal. You might say, “I would never cast judgment or seek cruelty.” However, let me ask you this, have you ever “liked” someone else’s response against a friend? You didn’t want to risk typing out your rebuttal and clicking enter, but you felt safe agreeing with someone else’s cruel response.
Someone’s FB wall is not run by an automaton, but a living, breathing and feeling human being. We have become calloused in our response towards one another when we believe that man is nothing more than a LIKE or UNLIKE button. Treat others with worth and seek to see them as more than a profile picture.
